Earn PSU Graduate Credits for NNETESOL Conference Attendance and Independent
Study Attendees of the Northern New England TESOL conference
on November 14, 2009, have the option of earning graduate credits in TESOL from Plymouth State University, for attending the
conference and then completing an independent study on a topic of their choice.
Attendees at the NNETESOL conference can register for a one-to-three-credit, special-topics
independent study in TESOL, via the College of Graduate Studies at Plymouth State University.
In addition to conference registration costs, the special-topics independent study is $441 per
credit for NH residents and $483 per credit for non-residents.
Each
credit equals 12 hours of independent study. Conference attendance would count for four hours.
After the conference, you would complete an 8- to 32-hour independent study, working one-on-one
with a Plymouth State faculty member in the College of Graduate Studies.
The
independent study would focus on one or more topics presented at the conference and which you wish to explore further in a
guided independent study.
Besides the day of the conference, the independent study
would be conducted entirely on-line. You would have until August 15, 2010, to complete your independent study project.
At the completion of the independent study you will earn one to three graduate credits in TESOL
from the College of Graduate Studies at Plymouth State University.
If you have any questions or are interested in the independent study, please contact James Whiting, coordinator
of the graduate TESOL Program at Plymouth, at jcwhiting@plymouth.edu or 603-535-2370.
