This award recognizes the many mainstream classroom teachers who contribute to the academic success of English language learners in their schools. Most ELLs are in regular classrooms settings during the school day and rely on the extra effort and support of these teachers to make the class content accessible to them. This award acknowledges teachers' efforts with a certificate and a $50 gift certificate. NNETESOL members can nominate deserving mainstream teachers once a year, by May 31. This award is given to one applicant per year for library or field research or for the preparation of pedagogical activities. The project must be completed within a calendar year. The recipient will then present the results at a NNETESOL conference and contribute documentation to the NNETESOL archives. The award amount is $500. The applicant must be a member of NNETESOL.
