In light of the recent killing of six Asian women in Atlanta, and the ongoing fatal violence against Black people, Northern New England TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) issues this statement condemning all acts of violence, discrimination, bullying, and bias.

We stand firm in our commitment to be a diverse organization that supports and promotes honest and transformative conversations among all educators.

We respect and celebrate our students’ and our colleagues’ cultures, languages, and stories.

We condemn targeting language, ideologies, skin color, sexual orientation, gender, and immigration status as justification for acts of violence and discrimination.

As a diverse organization invested in the well-being of English language learners of all backgrounds, NNETESOL believes our human experience connects us all.
