CLIMBing to Meet the Needs of Vermont’s
English Language Learners…and Teachers

Are you teaching a growing number of English language learners (ELLs)?
Do you have a nagging feeling that you could meet their needs better if you just
knew how? Are you wondering how to teach academic content in English to
ELLs with little or no English? Do you struggle in finding ways to be fair to ELLs
without lowering your high expectations or "dumbing down" content?

The CLIMBS® Course has been developed by the WIDA Consortium and
addresses these questions, while encouraging collaboration among all staff
responsible for the education of ELLs, including mainstream teachers.

For more information about CLIMBS®, go to:
and contact  info@wida.us.

I would like to ask if you would post the attached program announcement on  your website as well as send it out on any electronic listservs that you administer.

Eligible applicants must be:
